On Monday, January 17, 2022, Downtown Las Vegas welcomes the annual parade into town once again. The parade begins at 10 am, and it’s organized by the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Committee. This is the 40th Annual Birthday Parade, so it’s bound to be a great time. It’s the largest parade in the State of Nevada, and the theme for this year’s parade is “Living the Dream – Setting New Standards.” We can’t wait to see the parade participants this year, and it’s a fun event to take visitors of any age to in Vegas.
This year, Las Vegas is home to Sin City Classic, which is a multi-day LGBTQ+ sports festival. It takes place over the MLK weekend and has become the largest annual LGBTQ+ sporting event worldwide. The event kicks off on January 13, 2022, and will take place throughout various venues in Las Vegas. It’s a fun way to relax and enjoy watching some incredible athletes while spending time with your family and friends this MLK weekend.
One of our favorite ways to celebrate any holiday weekend in Las Vegas is with a live show. Over MLK weekend, you’ll find that Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons are performing at the Smith Center, which is perfect timing for anyone visiting over this weekend. Of course, there are dozens of other shows to choose from, many of which can be enjoyed at any time of the year. Book in advance for headliner shows during this busy weekend so that you don’t miss out on a great night out with your partner or friends.
In January, you’ll find some of the biggest names in comedy are heading to Las Vegas for one-off performances. During MLK weekend, don’t miss out on the chance to see Whitney Cummings, who will be performing at The Wynn. Another great opportunity to see comedy in town is with the Aces of Comedy series, which hosts stand-up shows throughout the month. It’s a fun option for anyone looking for something a little different to add to their Las Vegas trip itinerary this year.
There’s no shortage of activities and events to keep you entertained during an MLK weekend trip to Las Vegas. Make sure you book your resort and restaurants in advance for this weekend, as it draws more of a crowd than your typical weekend this month. With so many great parties to choose from, we highly recommend booking a Las Vegas club crawl with World Crawl to guarantee a spot at some of the best nights out in town. We’ll be here to plan everything to make your MLK weekend one to remember, so you can just turn up and enjoy the experience of being in Las Vegas during this time.
